I started my hair journey right after high school and I soon graduated from MC Collage, March 2023! I have always had a passion to do hair and I love to practice make up on my free time! I first got into hairstyling because of the creativity. I am always practicing, learning and willing to challenge myself with new techniques! My goal is to always make my clients happy and to feel their absolute best!
When I’m not in the salon, I love to be out spending time with my family and friends! I am always in the mood to go out, eat and spend quality time together!

I’ve been hairstyling for two years, and my love for the craft continues to grow each day. At the start of 2024, I made the big move from Newfoundland to Calgary, driven by my passion to expand my skills and knowledge within the hair industry.

When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll likely find me treasure-hunting for unique vintage pieces, exploring the great outdoors, or spending quality time with my cat, Luci.
With a blend of creative flair and technical expertise, I’m eager to bring my passion to each and every client, helping them look and feel their absolute best.

I have been a hair artisan for over a decade and I've dedicated my entire career to making women & men like you, look and feel beautiful/ or handsome, inside and out.
On my journey, I became a professional educator for the KEVIN.MURPHY team. With advanced training in many luxe hair brands, KEVIN.MURPHY, Oribe, Davines, Aveda just to name a few…product knowledge, I believe, is our friend and with the right applications, is a game changer. I have had the opportunity to travel states side to Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Vegas for exclusive advanced training from some of the top leaders in our industry to be able to bring that back for all of you!
My passion for the hair styling arts has also driven me creatively in the world of colour, where I apply modern techniques to deliver beautiful, bold results for all of my clients and guests.

Hi, I’m Serena.
Manager of our aspen location. I’ve been behind the chair for 15 years and still fall in love with this career every single day.
I’m passionate about the diversity hair brings. No two clients or styles are ever the same! I’m always learning and growing so I can give my clients the very best. I have a soft spot for lived-in blondes and brunettes, bobs, and men’s cut, but honestly, I love it all.
I’m also a fine-hair girly myself, which is why I love helping other fine-haired clients understand and embrace our texture so they can love their hair every day.
I’m a small-town girl at heart who’s happiest outside, whether I’m working hard in the sun or out on the golf course, pretending I actually know what I’m doing. I’m also a huge dog person, and when I’m not at the salon, you’ll find me with my cuddle buddy, Finn.
Can’t wait to meet you and create something amazing together.

As the founder of Rootbar and a stylist with 16 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the best educators in the world. My passion lies not only in mastering advanced techniques—such as balayage, blonding, precision cutting, and styling for both men and women—but also in the art of communication and thorough consultations. This approach allows me to transform hair in ways that truly align with each client’s vision.
In addition to my work behind the chair, I’ve had the honor of educating and mentoring other stylists across Canada. Sharing knowledge and helping others grow within the industry is something I deeply value. I also offer colour analysis and styling services for special occasions, including weddings, to help clients look and feel their best on life’s most memorable days.
When I’m not styling hair, I’m focused on running and growing Rootbar. Being an entrepreneur fuels my passion for building a business that supports creativity, innovation, and the personal growth of those around me.
Outside of the salon, I love enjoying a great meal with family and friends, staying active through fitness, and spending time in the mountains.

Hi, I’m Chelsey – a stylist who’s been dreaming of this career since I was little (ask my childhood dolls — they were my first clients).
I officially kicked things off by starting school in 2020 right in the middle of the chaos — yep, I’m a proud Pandemic hairdresser baby
I graduated with honors and hit the ground running, bringing passion, creativity, and a whole lot of heart to every client who sits in my chair. I love creating dimensional blondes, lived-in color, and full transformations — especially when paired with big '90s layers and voluminous blowouts
that bring the whole look to life. And as someone who’s been wearing extensions since I was 17, I’m obsessed with helping my fine-haired babes add length, volume, and confidence with seamless, natural-looking extensions.
I'm new to Rootbar and beyond excited to start this journey surrounded by such incredibly talented and inspiring women. I can’t wait to bring that same magic into every appointment.
